PRO MAP EDITOR - MACOS
----------------------

Nothing to install: the editor is a single self-contained program (PROEditor)
with its graphics in the Materials folder next to it. .NET does NOT need to
be installed.

GETTING IT TO START (do this once): macOS quarantines anything downloaded
from the internet, so a fresh download will NOT open by double-clicking; it
looks like nothing happens. From Terminal, in the folder you extracted:

cd path/to/PROEditor-osx-arm64 (or -osx-x64 on an Intel Mac)
    bash macos-start.sh

That restores the permission, clears the quarantine flag and starts the
editor. From then on you can double-click PROEditor or run ./macos-start.sh
- the script is safe to run every time.

Manual version of the same thing:

    chmod +x PROEditor
    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine .
    ./PROEditor

If macOS still refuses with "Apple could not verify..." / "unidentified
developer": System Settings > Privacy & Security > scroll down > "Open
Anyway", then run it again. (The app isn't notarized with Apple; that is
all macOS is objecting to.)

Intel vs Apple Silicon: osx-x64 for Intel Macs, osx-arm64 for M1/M2/M3/M4.
An arm64 build cannot run on an Intel Mac. The Intel build runs on Apple
Silicon through Rosetta ("softwareupdate --install-rosetta") if you only
have that one. Check with:  uname -m   (x86_64 -> x64, arm64 -> arm64).

If the window never appears after the steps above, it is crashing rather
than being blocked: send the newest crash.log (next to PROEditor, or in
~/.config/PROEditor/) to the developer.

Settings and the list of recent maps live in
~/.config/PROEditor/. Maps are plain .promap files you
can put anywhere.
